While Cambodia has improved key health indicators for mothers and children over the last 10 years, infants born in rural areas are three times more likely to die during their first year of life than infants born in urban communities.
The poor, ethnic minorities, remote and mobile populations still face barriers in accessing quality health care on time. UNICEF has been working with the Ministry of Health to identify and develop ways to address this. Good health service planning, quality health services and trained community volunteers are part of the solution. See more in this video, 'Beyond Barriers'
