In Cambodia, among over 14 millions population, about 41 per cent are under 18 years old. Marginalized families remain a fundamental criteria that needs to be highlighed in various programme development plans. Equal opportunity of children's access to care and education is a crucial topic. Cambodia remains one of the most heavily mined countries in the world. Children account for about half of all landmine casualties in Cambodia. UNICEF is the lead agency for mine-risk education, and also assists mine victims, especially children, supporting their reintegration into school and their communities.
